Wow, I’m not sure I’ve spelt that right. Anywhom, to start, I’ve noticed that I’ve begun to write this in a more informal way. I think I’ve done this for a reason but it sort of just happened – it might be a way for me to reach a bigger audience – but I’m not sure why. I hope you like my new writing style. Hopefully, it’s easier to understand them and it’s more interesting to read. Whatever your opinion may be, you can let me know by commenting or going on the ‘contact us‘ page.
These things are hugely overrated. Some people really like to stick their noses in and be like “well actually, I think that…” OMG! Actually, F**k off. No one asked for your input, okay honey? Good.
There will always be one person like the one above. These people are mostly bigots who just want to butt into your conversation. However, there will be times when you’re looking for someone’s opinion but you’re hoping they’re going to say what you want them to say. There will be times when they say the opposite of what you want to and that’s just called bad luck. If I’m honest, the people who are then like “omg she’s clearly wrong” get on my nerves. Don’t ask for an opinion if you don’t like the result.
I don’t really like hearing someone’s opinion which is why I rarely ask for one. I don’t ask for them because a lot of the time, I don’t like being told that someone thinks different. I’m aware that you think different, you really don’t need to remind me. Sometimes someone’s opinion can actually be quite rude and unnecessary.
This is getting really heated – I apologise XD.
So, we’ve discovered that opinions are optional, but does that mean that we can decide if we see an opinion piece or not?
An opinion piece is when someone writes something (usually an article) about an issue which they revolve around their opinion. For example, if you were asked to write a piece about Brexit and you didn’t like the idea about it, you would write about it negatively. However, if you liked the idea of Brexit, you would probably write positively about it. This is because you have your own opinion about it.
It’s quite difficult to write about something if you have very little knowledge about it. Usually, you will have to read about something in order to be able to write about it and if you read up on it, you will most likely obtain an opinion on it. This will massively affect your opinion piece.
In the media today, we see so many opinion pieces. Many of these won’t be labelled to be an opinion piece. But because of the opinion of the writer or the person above the writer, it has discretely turned into one. For example, Rupert Murdoch is the founder of News Corp which is the largest news company in the world. His opinion matters. Massively. If he was a Trump supporter, it is very unlikely that any of the pieces about American politics published by News Corp will have anything negative about Trump on them. Obviously, because of the fact that the company is so huge, it would be virtually impossible to control this. But as a rule, it’s possible.
There will always be an opinion piece. There will always be someone who doesn’t like it. But we can’t always help that. The media will influence people in different ways. It’s about how we decide to look at it. Or perspective, if you will.
