The truth is…

So, you’ve not long started a new hobby that you are loving! You’re really good at it and people love what you do. You do it every day and become very excited when it comes close to the time but one day, you feel as if you can’t do it anymore. You feel like you’re completely unsuccessful because you’re having a bad month because things have reached a standstill. So you quit. Makes sense, doesn’t it?

Personally, I would say no. Even though the mind will convince us that this is right but hearing it when it doesn’t apply to anything that we are currently working on, it sounds like absolute nonsense. But, we know that when we hit a wall, we feel as if we can’t get through it.  This is completely normal and it’s actually something that I’m worrying about currently. I’ll explain more about it later.

What is giving up?

This might seem like a stupid question but it’s often one that we completely overlook. Often, when we give up, it’s because we feel useless, embarrassed or unsuccessful. We want to quit to avoid these feelings and the quitting part can either set us free or bog us down even more. It’s risky and can be devastating.

Why do we quit?

There are parts in what we’re doing where we feel like because the numbers aren’t increasing, it means that we aren’t doing anything or having any effect whatsoever. Ultimately, this means that we lose motivation altogether and when this happens, it has a huge impact not only on what we’re doing but our day-to-day lives as well.

Giving up also comes as a result of selfishness too. When we worry about the way we want things to go, we don’t necessarily think about the things or people around us. This could mean that we end up only thinking about what is good for us and we feel like we can’t manage or cope with the pressure from the factors around us and it turns us into selfish monsters!

Should we quit?

Haha, no. The mind works in many different ways. Sometimes, we feel like we’re on top of the world and others it’s the complete opposite. We can’t help but want to quit on the opposite days just because we’re having a slump. But when the mind is in a positive state, we want to carry on the way we are and achieve something huge! quitting would mean that we lost all of that. Some would call this selfish, others might call this sensible. To be completely honest, it’s our choice.

Personally, I don’t like the idea of quitting but not because it makes us feel weak. I don’t like it because I feel that it indicates the fact that we don’t have the ability to keep pushing through and implies that we are closed-minded or selfish. I don’t like to think that someone would be selfish if they quit or give up because like I said it is our decision with what we do. However, we should think about all other factors and take time off before we make the final decision.

Sometimes we say “enough is enough.” But what does this actually mean? Because the word itself means to have as much that is required but the saying isn’t telling us that we have done too much. Viewing it optimistically suggests that what we’re actually saying is that enough is as much as what is required of us. It’s basically saying that there is a point that we reach where we have reached our limit. It doesn’t say that we can’t keep going!

My experience

If you’ve been following my blog since the start, you will know that I have been very passionate about it since this time. I love it! It makes me feel true to myself and makes me feel as if I have a purpose in life. Recently, I want to quit… This might come as a shock because some people can see my passion for it but I feel like I’m not reaching the audience that I want to be.

My goal in life is to have an impact on people’s lives and I feel like I’m not doing that currently. The people I am reaching out to are either close friends or family. Don’t get me wrong, it does feel good to know that there are some people that are impacted by this but I want to be able to see that I can do it!

I don’t see myself to have any other talents in life, I can’t sing or dance or do anything in that cliche and this is why I started my blog. I wanted to show off what I love and to see that people smile or gain something from reading it. Anyway, I’m going to take my own advice and take it slow. There will be no changes to my blog but there certainly going to be changes to my life. I need to learn how to be more positive.
